This role plays a critical part in supporting mortgage servicing operations with a focus on loss mitigation, foreclosure oversight, and homeowner resolution strategies. The Closing Support Specialist works closely with internal teams, clients, and external partners to ensure timely and compliant handling of complex loan files. The position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive workflows in a regulated environment. You will be responsible for monitoring pipelines, reviewing foreclosure-related timelines, and ensuring accurate reporting for management decision-making. The role also involves direct communication with homeowners and stakeholders, requiring professionalism and clarity in every interaction. In this role, you will support loss mitigation and closing operations by ensuring accurate file management, compliance with investor guidelines, and effective coordination across stakeholders.
- Monitor loan servicing pipelines and identify gaps or risks in review processes.
- Review foreclosure timelines and ensure all cases are addressed within required deadlines.
- Perform quality control audits and assist with ongoing compliance checks across files and workflows.
- Prepare and distribute daily operational reports for management visibility.
- Handle written and verbal communications with homeowners, clients, investors, insurers, and legal representatives.
- Support training of new hires, including auditing files during onboarding and transition periods.
- Ensure adherence to agency and investor guidelines (FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC) across workout scenarios.
- Assist in structuring and reviewing loss mitigation solutions aligned with stakeholder and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational efficiency.
This role requires experience in mortgage servicing or collections environments, with strong analytical, compliance, and communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of experience in collections, loss mitigation, mortgage servicing, or real estate-related operations.
- Strong knowledge of loss mitigation workout types and agency guidelines (FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC).
- Experience working with mortgage servicing systems (e.g., LPS/MSP preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Capable of working independently while contributing effectively in a team setting.
