Responsibilities
Transportation Duties
- Safely transport students to and from medical appointments, educational activities, work-based learning sites, and other approved off-center locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Inspect tires, brakes, lights, windshield wipers, fluids, fuel levels, and safety equipment to ensure vehicles are safe and road-ready.
- Report vehicle maintenance issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local traffic laws and Department of Transportation regulations.
- Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, fuel usage, passenger counts, and trip reports.
- Provide courteous, professional, and safe transportation services to students and staff.
Security Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining the safety and security of students, staff, visitors, and campus facilities.
- Patrol assigned areas of campus.
- Perform routine building security and safety inspections.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and security concerns.
- Monitor campus activity and report suspicious or unsafe conditions.
- Assist with conflict resolution and de-escalation when appropriate.
- Complete incident reports and other required documentation.
- Work collaboratively with Residential Services, Student Services, Wellness, and Security staff to support student success.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to pass a background check.
