This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Manager - Core HR based in Canada.

This is an opportunity to own the core systems that underpin how organizations manage their people globally. You’ll lead the product strategy and execution for employee records, lifecycle events, onboarding, leave management, reporting, and related workflows. The role combines strategic product thinking with hands-on execution across discovery, prioritization, delivery, and launch. You’ll work closely with engineering, design, QA, sales, marketing, and customers to turn complex needs into scalable product solutions. A key focus will be maintaining data integrity while addressing the complexities of multi-country HR requirements and compliance. Reporting directly to the Head of Product, you’ll have significant ownership and influence over the Core HR roadmap.

• Own the Core HR product lifecycle, from discovery and market research through roadmap planning, development, launch, and continuous improvement.

• Lead product areas including employee profiles and records, onboarding and offboarding, time-off and leave management, employee lifecycle events, dashboards, reporting, and compliance workflows.

• Conduct customer research, competitive analysis, and market discovery to identify opportunities and translate insights into clear product priorities.

• Convert product strategy and complex business requirements into actionable specifications, user stories, use cases, technical requirements, and business cases for engineering teams.

• Own and maintain the Core HR roadmap, ensuring releases address customer needs, business objectives, data integrity, and cross-border compliance requirements.

• Gather and synthesize feedback from customers and internal stakeholders to make informed prioritization and product decisions.

• Collaborate closely with engineering, QA, design, marketing, and sales throughout product planning, development, and launch.

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and other product delivery activities.

• Partner with QA to establish appropriate testing strategies and maintain release quality, particularly for data migrations and employee lifecycle processes.

• Monitor HR technology trends, customer challenges, and the competitive landscape to keep the product roadmap informed and forward-looking.

• Maintain accurate documentation covering requirements, project plans, timelines, decisions, and status updates.

• Communicate product progress, outcomes, and learnings clearly to stakeholders and develop customer-facing content explaining Core HR functionality.

• 3–5 years of experience in product management or a closely related role within a technology or SaaS environment.

• Demonstrated experience owning the product lifecycle and successfully delivering impactful B2B products, ideally involving employee data, HRIS, HCM, or systems of record.

• Strong product judgment with the ability to balance customer needs, strategic objectives, and practical execution.

• Experience working across engineering, design, QA, and business teams, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to translate complex business requirements, particularly those involving multiple countries, jurisdictions, and compliance considerations, into clear technical requirements.

• Hands-on experience working in Agile environments, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative product delivery.

• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to use customer insights, market information, and competitive intelligence to guide product decisions.

• Excellent organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate clearly with stakeholders.

• A customer-first mindset combined with strong strategic thinking and attention to execution.

• Comfortable operating independently in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment and taking ownership without extensive direction.

• Experience with HCM, HRIS, or Core HR platforms is strongly preferred.
