Job Description

Technical Program Manager, Extensibility Platform (CA)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Program Manager, Extensibility Platform (CA) based in Canada.

This is a high-impact technical program leadership role focused on shaping a strategic extensibility platform used to make complex technology more programmable and adaptable.
You will operate at the intersection of platform engineering, product management, and cross-functional program leadership.
The role spans multiple interconnected workstreams, including developer tools, APIs, custom data models, workflows, SDKs, observability, and platform infrastructure.
You will own critical program decisions, resolve complex cross-team dependencies, and drive alignment across engineering and product organizations.
Your work will directly influence major product launches, technical roadmaps, customer capabilities, and long-term platform strategy.
The ideal environment is fast-moving, highly collaborative, technically sophisticated, and comfortable with ambiguity and complex organizational challenges.
This is an opportunity to help build foundational capabilities that enable customers and internal teams to create greater value through a more flexible and programmable platform.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the overall technical program across multiple extensibility workstreams, establishing program strategy, priorities, milestones, dependencies, and success measures in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Drive complex cross-functional decisions across engineering, product, developer experience, SDK, observability, versioning, and related platform teams, resolving ambiguous ownership and integration challenges.
  • Own the critical path for major product launches, proactively managing scope, identifying risks, driving trade-off discussions, and recommending deliberate descope decisions when necessary.
  • Influence engineering and product roadmaps by bringing a program-level perspective to planning cycles and identifying cross-cutting investments that individual teams may not independently prioritize.
  • Build strong alignment across teams with competing priorities by facilitating decisions, resolving conflicts, clarifying ownership, and maintaining momentum toward shared outcomes.
  • Partner with professional services and strategic partnerships teams to ensure customer and commercial requirements are appropriately reflected in platform roadmaps and delivery plans.
  • Translate complex technical considerations into clear strategic recommendations and communicate decisions, risks, dependencies, and progress effectively to engineering, product, and executive stakeholders.
  • Monitor overall program health, identify emerging risks and dependencies, and establish mechanisms that keep teams accountable to critical outcomes.
  • Support the evolution of a scalable platform that enables customers and product teams to customize technology through programmable capabilities, APIs, workflows, and reusable platform primitives.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, with a demonstrated track record of delivering complex, cross-organizational technical programs.
  • Strong product sense and the ability to understand enterprise customer needs, translate them into actionable priorities, and balance customer value with technical and business considerations.
  • Proven ability to communicate with precision and credibility across engineering, product, business, and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, driving decisions, resolving conflicts, building consensus, and coordinating organizations with competing priorities.
  • Strong track record of delivering complex technical programs from planning through execution, with the ability to manage dependencies, risks, scope, and competing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong technical understanding and the ability to engage meaningfully with engineering teams, evaluate architectural and platform trade-offs, and understand complex technical dependencies.
  • Experience working in product management or product operations is a plus.
  • Experience with developer platforms, API products, extensibility platforms, SaaS products, or payment/financial technology environments is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, stakeholder-management, and decision-making skills.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments where successful outcomes require influence and collaboration rather than direct authority.
Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary range of CA$153,700–CA$230,500 for the primary Canadian location, with final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
  • Potential equity and company bonus opportunities, depending on role and location.
  • Retirement and savings programs.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
  • Wellness stipends and additional employee benefits that may vary by location.
  • Flexible hybrid work model, with the role available from an office or remotely in Canada, subject to applicable location requirements.
  • Office-based employees are generally expected to spend at least 50% of their time in the local office or with users.
  • Remote employees located at least 35 miles (56 km) from an office can regularly work from home, while retaining opportunities to participate in team meetings, events, and on-site gatherings.
  • Opportunity to work on strategically significant technology programs with broad organizational and customer impact.
  • A collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives, rigorous thinking, ownership, and continuous learning.
  • Exposure to complex platform, API, developer experience, and enterprise technology challenges in a highly innovative environment.
