In this role, you will drive the evolution of developer platforms and internal engineering systems that improve productivity, reliability, and collaboration across teams. You will combine technical leadership with hands-on engineering to design scalable solutions, introduce AI-powered workflows, and establish best practices for software delivery.
- Shape the technical strategy and roadmap for developer experience platforms, including CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and AI-enabled engineering tools.
- Design and develop AI agents that support engineering workflows such as coding assistance, code reviews, test generation, release automation, and incident response.
- Build scalable developer tooling and infrastructure that improves engineering efficiency as the organization grows.
- Create standardized tools, processes, and practices that enable teams to collaborate more effectively and avoid duplicated efforts.
- Lead complex technical initiatives across multiple teams while balancing innovation, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Provide technical mentorship through architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering guidance.
- Partner with engineering leaders to identify high-value opportunities and make informed technical decisions.
- Represent the engineering organization through external technical contributions, talks, and open-source initiatives when relevant.
The ideal candidate is a senior technical leader with deep software engineering expertise, strong systems thinking, and a passion for improving how engineers build and deliver software. You should be comfortable working in ambiguous environments, influencing without authority, and leading large-scale technical initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including experience in technical leadership or architecture roles.
- Strong software design and programming fundamentals.
- 4+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems.
- 4+ years leading technical projects across multiple engineering teams.
- Experience developing developer platforms, internal tooling, CI/CD systems, or infrastructure solutions for large engineering organizations.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools, AI agents, or automation systems used in software development.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Go, Python, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
- Proven ability to improve developer productivity through better tools, workflows, and engineering practices.
- Experience making technical decisions in complex environments with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication, collaboration, mentorship, and problem-solving skills.
- Competitive annual base salary range of $154,800–$212,850 CAD, depending on location, skills, experience, and role level.
