Basic Function

Responsible for manufacturing and grading logs for the Akron sawmill.

Responsibilities

1. Cut, scale, and grade logs to meet company specifications, using a chainsaw or skid steer attachment, for the Akron sawmill.
2. Record scaled log data into electronic handheld device.
3. Routine maintenance of equipment.
4. Performs related work as required as directed by their supervisor.

Physical Requirements
1. Be able to walk over rough terrain periodically.
2. Be able to climb, squat, stoop and twist to maneuver into and out of equipment.
3. Be able to sit in machine for 5 or more hours at a time.
4. Be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
