PreSales Solutions Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a PreSales Solutions Consultant based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to bridge the gap between customer needs and innovative technology solutions during the sales journey.
You will act as a trusted technical advisor, helping prospective customers understand the value and capabilities of advanced retail solutions.
The position combines technical expertise, business consulting, and customer engagement to support strategic growth initiatives.
You will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, professional services, and product teams to deliver impactful demonstrations and recommendations.

Accountabilities:

The PreSales Solutions Consultant will provide technical sales support, guide prospects through solution discovery, and demonstrate how technology can address complex retail business challenges.

  • Partner with sales teams to identify customer needs, qualify opportunities, and develop effective solution strategies.
  • Support the full sales lifecycle, from initial discovery through customer acquisition and retention activities.
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations tailored to prospective customers and existing clients through onsite and virtual sessions.
  • Create and maintain demonstration environments, scripts, and scenarios that effectively showcase solution capabilities.
  • Define and support proof-of-concept engagements to demonstrate business value and technical feasibility.
  • Respond to requests for information and proposals with clear, compelling, and technically accurate solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product developments, releases, competitive positioning, and industry trends.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and knowledge sharing to colleagues, partners, and internal teams.
  • Support marketing initiatives, including conferences, webinars, user events, and customer-facing activities.
  • Understand customer business challenges, technical requirements, security considerations, and evolving operational needs.
  • Collaborate with retail specialists to identify customer pain points and recommend solutions that improve business outcomes.
  • Participate in transition briefings with sales and professional services teams to ensure alignment before deployment.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during executive briefings and strategic customer engagements.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines retail technology expertise, strong communication skills, and a consultative approach to help customers adopt innovative solutions.

  • Ability to actively listen to customer requirements and translate business challenges into effective technology solutions.
  • Experience supporting sales processes and acting as a trusted advisor to account teams.
  • Background working with retail associate technologies from either a vendor or retailer perspective.
  • Experience with point-of-sale (POS), clienteling, or retail associate solutions is highly valued.
  • Strong ability to learn new technologies quickly and communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to explain both technical and business value.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise sales campaigns and customer engagements.
  • Extensive experience delivering product demonstrations focused on both technical capabilities and business outcomes.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple opportunities effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maximize efficiency and minimize unnecessary effort.
  • Fluent English communication skills required; additional languages are an asset.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally, primarily within North America and Europe.
