Job Description
Summary/Objective:
The Line Lead supports the Shift Supervisor in daily operations and oversees their manufacturing line. This role is responsible for entering production data into the company’s software system, maintaining the quality assurance documentation, and ensuring operational accuracy. The Line Lead also supervises all Line Leads Assistance and provides guidance and support across multiple production areas.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee daily production line to ensure established throughput, production goals, and schedules are met in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare production line for daily operations, including coordinating equipment setup and ensuring readiness prior to start-up.
- Assist Shift Supervisor with pre-shift and post-shift meetings to communicate safety expectations, production goals, and performance feedback.
- Communicate daily production objectives, staffing plans, and operational updates to production teams and management.
- Assist or perform required daily production posting and closeout procedures in accordance with internal controls and audit standards.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely entry of production data, including crew counts and production start/stop times, to support reporting, payroll, and financial tracking.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and sanitation standards.
- Enforce adherence to GMPs, SOPs, and OSHA safety requirements, ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
- Monitor general safety compliance, identify potential hazards, and report safety concerns or incidents to management in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Identify, document, and report nonconformances or deficiencies related to raw materials, in-process materials, or finished goods.
- Inform Shift Supervisor of Maintenance concern and fill out work order, monitor progress
- Coordinate with Shipping and Receiving to ensure material availability and support daily production requirements.
- Coordinate staffing levels and personnel assignments to maintain adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
- Escalate operational, safety, quality, or personnel issues to the Line Lead Supervisor/Production Manager in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and compliance objectives.
- Coaching/modeling company values, safety expectations, and quality standards while promoting teamwork and accountability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and workflow.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred
- 4+ years of manufacturing or food production experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with sustained focus, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead by example.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey instructions, expectations, and information.
- Proficient in general computer applications and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to learn, perform, and support multiple job functions as required by operational needs.
- Physical ability to meet the demands of the role, including standing and walking for extended periods, frequent use of hands and arms, and the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to comply with all safety, GMP, and company policies and procedures.
