The Tool Repair Technician is responsible for repairing and performing routine maintenance on pneumatic tools, High Work Equipment, and welding gear to ensure optimal performance and longevity in support of shipyard operations.
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are mechanically inclined.
Tool Repair Technicians will not only perform preventive maintenance on pneumatic tools but will also complete full rebuilds to make sure the trades have the tools needed to perform their work on the deck-plate, as well as High Work equipment and welder gear. The selected candidate must have good customer service skills and be able to work with employees at all levels.
This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.
Responsibilities

- Attention to detail, must be detail oriented and able to work independently with little to no supervision

- Computer proficiency including MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel & MS Powerpoint
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent OR 2 plus years of related technical experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience repairing pneumatic tools
- Availability to work all shifts, overtime and weekends based on business needs
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, drawings, and diagrams
Preferred:
- Minimum of 2 years of preventative maintenance of pneumatic tooling
- Vocational, technical, and community colleges, or apprentice programs
- Knowledge of computer programs such as AWPSS, ATICTS, and Cribmaster
- Military/Navy experience
