This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Platform Engineering in Brazil.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for defining and scaling the core infrastructure, security, and IT operations of a fast-growing, regulated SaaS platform. You will own the cloud ecosystem end to end, ensuring reliability, cost efficiency, and compliance across all environments. Acting as a strategic partner to executive leadership, you will shape platform direction while driving execution with a high degree of autonomy. The role spans infrastructure, security, and vendor management in a complex, multi-account AWS environment. You will collaborate closely with engineering, legal, finance, and customer-facing teams to support secure and scalable growth. This is a hands-on leadership position in a fast-paced, accountability-driven engineering culture.
- Own and scale the end-to-end platform infrastructure, including AWS architecture, cloud cost optimization, and system reliability across multiple accounts and services.
- Lead security, compliance, and risk management programs, ensuring adherence to standards such as SOC 2 Type II, GLBA, and CCPA.
- Oversee IT operations, vendor management, and tooling strategy, including consolidation and optimization of third-party services and contracts.
- Define and execute incident response, monitoring, and cybersecurity strategies using modern observability and security tools.
- Build and lead a high-performing Platform Engineering organization spanning infrastructure, security, and IT support functions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, legal, finance, and customer success teams to support product delivery and customer onboarding environments.
- Drive automation and operational excellence to reduce engineering toil and improve system scalability and resilience.
- 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, or security leadership within SaaS or fintech environments.
- Proven track record of managing infrastructure, security, and IT teams in high-growth, fast-paced organizations.
- Deep expertise in AWS services such as ECS Fargate, Aurora PostgreSQL, IAM, KMS, S3, and VPC, along with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Terragrunt.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards including SOC 2 Type II, GLBA, CCPA, and ideally PCI DSS.
- Experience owning vendor management, cloud cost optimization, and large-scale infrastructure budgets.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong sense of ownership, autonomy, and execution focus with a bias toward delivering completed outcomes.
- Nice-to-have: experience with Cloudflare, Datadog, Auth0, Zero Trust architectures, IT support operations, or financial services environments.
- Nice-to-have: bilingual proficiency in English and Portuguese.
