This is a senior technical leadership opportunity for a licensed electrical engineer responsible for delivering complex engineering designs and studies.
You will serve as an Engineer of Record, providing technical authority across major projects while ensuring safety, quality, compliance, and performance.
The role spans project execution, electrical system design, client engagement, interdisciplinary coordination, and engineering standards.
You will contribute to large commercial, healthcare, higher education, and central energy plant projects with sophisticated power infrastructure requirements.
As a technical leader, you will mentor engineers, designers, and BIM/CAD professionals while helping strengthen engineering practices across the organization.
You will work closely with project managers, clients, authorities, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions within scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations.

- Oversee and direct electrical engineering activities for complex projects, ensuring designs follow engineering best practices, applicable standards, and National Electrical Code requirements.
- Serve as the Engineer of Record and provide technical authority for electrical designs, studies, engineering solutions, and project deliverables.
- Support project managers with project budgets, execution plans, construction cost estimates, schedules, and other planning activities.
- Deliver electrical engineering work within established budget, schedule, scope, and quality requirements.
- Prepare engineering documents, including study reports, drawings, specifications, addendums, proposal requests, and supplemental instructions, including stamped and signed documents where required.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and career development support to electrical engineers, designers, and BIM/CAD technicians.
- Coordinate electrical engineering communications with project teams, clients, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
- Collaborate with other technical disciplines to develop integrated and practical design solutions.
- Participate in client meetings, site investigations, surveys, and documentation of existing conditions.
- Support quality assurance reviews across project disciplines and promote consistently high technical standards.
- Develop, maintain, and approve electrical engineering standards, tools, processes, and procedures.
- Act as a technical focal point for electrical engineering and design teams, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Partner with project leadership to deliver a strong client experience and uphold high standards of engineering excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineering (PE) license with at least 10 years of experience following PE licensure.
- Proven experience designing large-scale commercial projects.
- Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams executing complex electrical engineering design projects.
- Experience designing healthcare facilities and higher education projects.
- Experience with Central Energy Plant electrical infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical experience designing medium-voltage protection and power distribution systems.
- Experience designing paralleled generator systems at medium voltage and below.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within integrated, multidisciplinary teams.
- Current industry awareness and understanding of relevant market and competitive dynamics.
- Clean driving record and willingness to travel approximately 20–25% of the time to project sites and office locations.
- Ability to work for extended periods at a computer or desk and occasionally stand, kneel, climb stairs, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Ability to adjust or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $136,455 to $175,590.
