Cybersecurity Project Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cybersecurity Project Manager based in Canada.

As a Cybersecurity Project Manager, you will lead complex security programs that support critical business and technology objectives. You will coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives, change requests, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The role combines cybersecurity expertise with strong project governance, stakeholder engagement, and executive communication. You will help translate security strategy into measurable initiatives aligned with established frameworks and business priorities. Your work will contribute to strengthening risk posture, regulatory compliance, and the organization’s overall security maturity. This is a remote opportunity for an experienced leader who can bring structure, accountability, and strategic direction to high-impact cybersecurity programs.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and manage cybersecurity programs and complex security initiatives from planning through successful delivery.
  • Oversee cross-functional teams delivering security initiatives aligned with enterprise objectives and recognized frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001.
  • Manage multiple projects and change management requests simultaneously, balancing competing priorities within a critical business environment.
  • Establish and maintain effective project tracking, governance, status reporting, and progress-monitoring mechanisms using standardized templates and processes.
  • Drive value stream identification, mapping, and continuous improvement across cybersecurity initiatives to improve delivery efficiency and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and technical leads to prioritize backlogs and ensure delivery decisions reflect security risks and business priorities.
  • Ensure cybersecurity initiatives comply with internal security policies and applicable regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and SOX.
  • Monitor and communicate program status, KPIs, risks, dependencies, and overall security posture to executive leadership and steering committees.
  • Build trusted relationships with executive-level customers and stakeholders, communicating complex security topics clearly and effectively.
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate third-party risk management activities.
  • Develop and maintain a forward-looking information security roadmap aligned with business strategy and evolving cybersecurity priorities.
  • Identify delivery risks, resource constraints, dependencies, and potential obstacles, and coordinate appropriate mitigation and escalation actions.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in project or program management, preferably within complex enterprise environments.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity program delivery.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale cybersecurity initiatives involving solutions or environments such as SailPoint, Delinea, Azure B2C, SiteMinder, and ITIL service management.
  • Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001.
  • Familiarity with security and regulatory requirements including HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and SOX.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, change requests, competing priorities, risks, and dependencies simultaneously.
  • Strong project governance, planning, tracking, reporting, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with executive-level customers and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams toward shared outcomes.
  • Ability to translate cybersecurity risks and technical requirements into clear project priorities, roadmaps, and delivery plans.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and collaboration skills.
  • PMP certification required.
