Job Description

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a part-time Lab Instructor to teach BIOSC 0267 Intermediate Biology Research Laboratory from 24 August 2026 to 11 December 2026. This position is outside of the tenure stream and entails teaching one section of an authentic research-based lab course that meets on Tuesdays from 5:30 – 9:20 PM. Minimum qualifications are an MS degree in Biology or related field (or MS in Education with a BS in Biology), with some teaching experience; preferred qualifications are publication of research work, work in different biological systems, PhD in the biological sciences, formal training in teaching, experience as sole instructor of a laboratory course, and experience teaching an authentic-research laboratory course. Lab Instructors must be able to participate in on-campus activities in person.
