Unarmed Security Officer, Storefront Security (Friday & Saturday Evenings)

SecurityRI is hiring a professional Unarmed Security Officer for a recurring storefront security assignment at a gas station in Providence, Rhode Island. This is a highly visible, customer-facing position focused on deterring criminal activity, maintaining order around the storefront, and providing a professional security presence during peak evening hours.

This position is best suited for an officer who is confident interacting with the public, remains alert in a fast-paced environment, and can effectively de-escalate situations while maintaining a professional demeanor.

-7:00 PM, 1:00 AM
Position Overview:

Officers assigned to this detail are responsible for maintaining a constant, visible security presence around the storefront, fuel pumps, parking lot, and surrounding property. The primary objective is deterrence through professional presence while monitoring for suspicious activity, trespassing, loitering, theft, disturbances, and other quality-of-life concerns.

This is a technology-forward environment. All reporting, attendance, and incident documentation are completed through company-provided mobile applications. Every shift begins and ends with a digital clock-in through our attendance platform, and officers are expected to complete all required reporting accurately before the conclusion of each shift.

Key Responsibilities:
-Maintain a highly visible security presence throughout the entire shift.
-Patrol the storefront, parking lot, fuel pump area, and exterior perimeter.
-Deter loitering, panhandling, theft, trespassing, and disruptive behavior.
-Monitor customer and employee safety while providing professional customer service.
-Complete all digital clock-in and clock-out procedures through company mobile applications.
-Submit detailed Daily Activity Reports and Incident Reports through our reporting platform.
-Immediately document suspicious activity, disturbances, accidents, or policy violations.
-Communicate with Dispatch and Operations regarding incidents requiring supervisory attention.
-Conduct a thorough shift handoff when applicable.
-Maintain a professional appearance and represent both the client and SecurityRI at all times.

What We Are Looking For:

Strong communication skills are essential for this assignment. Officers must be capable of writing detailed, accurate reports while exercising sound judgment in customer-facing situations. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, remaining proactive throughout the shift, and addressing situations professionally through verbal de-escalation whenever possible.

Prior experience in retail, convenience store, gas station, hospitality, or customer service security is preferred.

Technology Requirements:

All officers must own or have consistent access to a smartphone capable of running our patrol and reporting applications. Prior to deployment, SecurityRI provides training on our digital attendance platform, Daily Activity Report system, and incident reporting software. Officers are expected to use these systems consistently throughout every shift.

Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age or older
Valid government-issued identification
Smartphone capable of utilizing company applications
Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods
Professional appearance and excellent customer service skills
Reliable transportation
Successful completion of a National & State background check
