Micro-credential Platform Administrator

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Micro-credential Platform Administrator based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to support the evolution of digital learning ecosystems by managing and enhancing a platform that enables innovative credentialing pathways.
The successful candidate will help shape how learners, educators, and administrators engage with micro-credentials, digital badges, and competency-based learning models.
Working at the intersection of technology, education, and business processes, this position requires strong analytical skills and a passion for improving user experiences.
You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including academic teams, IT professionals, vendors, and platform users, to translate needs into effective solutions.
The role involves platform administration, workflow optimization, system integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Accountabilities:

The Micro-credential Platform Administrator will oversee the administration, optimization, and ongoing support of digital credentialing systems while ensuring alignment with institutional goals and user needs.

  • Manage the daily administration, configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of micro-credential platforms and related technology solutions.
  • Act as a key connection point between academic departments, administrative teams, vendors, and IT groups to gather requirements, analyze needs, and deliver effective system solutions.
  • Coordinate the creation, approval, launch, modification, and retirement of micro-credentials in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage credential and digital badge workflows, including setup, learner enrollment, completion tracking, verification, issuance, and lifecycle management.
  • Monitor platform performance, data integrity, integrations, user access, and system dependencies while troubleshooting issues and coordinating resolutions.
  • Support system upgrades, implementations, testing activities, process improvements, and documentation efforts, including user guides and training materials.
  • Provide guidance and support to faculty, staff, learners, and administrators to encourage successful adoption and consistent platform usage.
  • Analyze platform data, develop reports, and contribute insights that support program evaluation, operational improvements, compliance, and informed decision-making.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting technology platforms, analyzing business needs, and collaborating across technical and functional teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Experience supporting credentialing platforms, digital badging systems, learning platforms, registration systems, or similar enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of micro-credentials, digital credentials, badges, and their role in competency-based education, stackable learning, and modular learning pathways.
  • Familiarity with credential metadata, verification processes, issuer and learner workflows, credential lifecycle management, and digital achievement records.
  • Experience with business systems analysis, requirements gathering, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and user support.
  • Knowledge of integrations, APIs, single sign-on solutions, data imports/exports, reporting tools, and workflow automation.
  • Experience with learning management systems such as Canvas, Canvas Catalog, Cornerstone, or comparable platforms is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders while delivering high-quality customer service.
