Job Description
BASIC PURPOSE
The operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment as well as determining proper selection of equipment, equipment setup, operating different presses, overhead crane, forklift, posting of production records and maintaining normal production yields and anything else the Supervisor/Manager may request.
MINIMUM POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent (4 yrs experience = High School diploma)
• Experience: Able to operate overhead crane, forklift, and presses
• Language Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• May be required to work rotating shifts, overtime and weekends.
• Must have working knowledge of manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of
• Work Environment: May be exposed to heat/cold, noise, humidity, fumes, etc.
• Must be able to work overtime, any shift and any day of the week.
• Possess the ability to perform under the procedures set out for the position.
• Able to lift and move up to 50lbs.
• Able to stand, bend, and move around during all working hours.
• Understand and able to use a dial indicator.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ability to straighten tubes to tight tolerances and perform drift inspection
• Operate gag press, H-frame/C-frame presses, and cross rollers
• Operate overhead crane
• Operate forklift
• Prepare work for processing
• Manual handling of parts of different shapes and weight
• Rotate parts when necessary to complete the job
• Maintain part identification and traceability
• Responsible for his/her production
• Responsible for following production schedules
• Promotes safety and good housekeeping practices
• Responsible for conveyance of pertinent information to relieving operator.
• Must be a close liaison with any applicable service department
• Performs all other assigned duties when requested
