Job Description
Client Service & Marketing Associate
Kennedy Capital Management LLC (KCM) is a St. Louis-based, boutique investment firm that has focused on a goal of generating superior returns in the small and mid-cap domestic equity markets for our clients for more than 40 years. We’re currently seeking to add a Client Service & Marketing Associate to our team.
Position Summary:
The Client Service & Marketing Associate supports the firm's clients, prospects, and consultants across institutional and intermediary channels. Core work includes RFIs, RFPs, and DDQs, client deliverables, presentation materials, and other support work. This entry-level role reports to the Head of Client Service & Marketing. It is a strong fit for a recent college graduate who is eager to learn the investment business, takes pride in accurate work, and is comfortable using AI, PowerPoint, and Excel to work efficiently.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare and update client- and prospect-facing materials — pitchbooks, strategy presentations, client review books, fact sheets, and collateral — with a high bar for accuracy and polish.
- Support new business efforts by helping compile responses to RFPs, RFIs, and DDQs, partnering with investments, operations, and compliance.
- Maintain the database of approved content used to complete RFPs, RFIs, and DDQs, keeping responses current, accurate, and consistent with compliance-approved language.
- Support consultant relations by keeping consultant and third-party databases current and helping prepare for consultant meetings and due diligence reviews.
- Produce recurring client deliverables, such as certifications, specialized reporting, quarterly commentary, and data preparation for portfolio managers.
- Support client, prospect, and consultant meetings by preparing materials and coordinating logistics.
- Prepare prompt responses to ad hoc requests from clients, prospects, consultants, and internal teams.
- Route client-facing materials through compliance review and keep client, prospect, and consultant records in CRM system up to date.
- Own the recurring operational work that keeps client service running — data pulls, report distribution, and similar tasks — and use AI tools and automation to make it faster and more accurate over time, suggesting ways to improve how the team works.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written communication and proofreading skills
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Discretion with confidential information and a strong compliance mindset.
Preferred
- Recent college graduate in finance, economics, business, marketing, communications, or a related field
- Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to draft, analyze, and automate work
- Knowledge of the investment industry is helpful but not required
- Familiarity with Ridgeline, Salesforce, FactSet, or UBS Holt is a plus but not required.
Ideal Candidate:
- Hungry to learn and grow, asks good questions, and takes initiative
- Owns the details and catches errors before materials go out
- Strong project management instincts and a high tolerance for detail-oriented recurring work; hits deadlines, doesn't let things slip, and takes pride in doing routine work well
- Dependable, collaborative, and positive when priorities shift
