Job Description
Lake Park Center is a specialized mental health facility, and we are currently seeking a temporary fulltime Dietary Aide with the hours of 11am - 7pm.
Basic Function
To assist cook in providing nutritional meals by preparing and serving meals in an attractive manner, and to maintain a high standard of sanitation and safety.
Essential Duties1. Stores food properly – in containers and off the floor.
2. Correctly stores toxic items.
3. Uses appropriate and timely hand-washing techniques.
4. Ensures all individual meals are served according to prescribed diets as reflected on the dietary card
5. Follows proper sanitation and infection control procedures.
6. Covers food in route to serving area.
7. Delivery of meals on time in on an organized and efficient manner.
8. Follows correct procedure for isolation trays.
9. Obtains substitutes as requested.
10. Verifies resident tray with dietary card and resident.
11. Follows safe and proper procedures for hot/steam carts.
12. Delivers nourishment and dietary supplements to units per schedule.
13. Properly disposes of garbage and waste.
14. Sanitizes food preparation equipment, dishes, utensils per Policy and Procedure.
15. Maintains equipment in clean, safe, functional manner.
16. Returns items to proper place.
Requirements:Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED
. Previous experience in a dietary aide role, preferably in a nursing home or healthcare setting.
. Food handler's certification or ability to obtain one upon hiring.
· No convictions for abuse, neglect or mistreatment or for misappropriation of property.
· Prompt and regular attendance.
Physical Requirements
. Ability to stand for long periods.
. Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds.
. Ability to handle and prepare food safely.
