Sr. Strategic Account Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Strategic Account Manager based in the United States.

As a Sr. Strategic Account Manager, you will own a portfolio of high-value strategic accounts and play a central role in driving retention, expansion, and long-term customer value.
You will build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers while developing growth strategies aligned with both customer priorities and business objectives.
The role combines strategic account leadership, data-driven decision-making, commercial growth, and deep product expertise.
You will use customer insights and usage analytics to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and strengthen product adoption across complex organizations.
As a strategic partner to clients, you will also influence product direction by translating customer needs into actionable recommendations for internal teams.
You will collaborate across leadership, finance, product, and other functions while representing the organization at industry events and strengthening executive relationships.

Accountabilities
  • Own and lead a strategic portfolio of accounts, with responsibility for account health, customer retention, expansion, and revenue growth.
  • Develop and execute long-term account strategies that increase customer adoption, product dependency, footprint, and overall value.
  • Establish trusted relationships across customer organizations, including senior executives and key strategic decision-makers.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor by understanding customer priorities, challenges, workflows, and business objectives, then translating those insights into actionable solutions.
  • Use customer usage data, analytics, and market intelligence to identify adoption trends, expansion opportunities, and potential account risks.
  • Build and execute proactive mitigation and growth plans to strengthen customer relationships and maximize long-term retention.
  • Partner with internal leadership to evolve account strategies and ensure the organization remains deeply embedded in the workflows of its most strategic customers.
  • Leverage customer knowledge and market expertise to influence product strategy, recommending enhancements that increase customer value while supporting broader product and business objectives.
  • Act as a bridge between customers and internal teams, advocating for high-impact product and process improvements while maintaining a strong feedback loop.
  • Collaborate with Finance on revenue forecasting, accounts receivable, commercial planning, and account risk management.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences and events, strengthening executive relationships and contributing to market visibility.
  • Provide mentorship, strategic guidance, and thought leadership across the organization without requiring direct people management.
  • Contribute to internal best practices and help develop scalable account-management processes within a growth-stage environment.
  • Measure success through net revenue retention, multi-year contract growth, expansion pipeline generation and conversion, executive engagement, customer referenceability, and influence on product direction.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in account management, strategic account management, client leadership, or a comparable customer-facing commercial role.
  • Demonstrated success driving net revenue retention, account expansion, revenue growth, and long-term customer value across a portfolio of strategic accounts.
  • Experience in ABS/structured products finance, lending, capital markets, FinTech, or closely related financial services industries.
  • Strong executive-level communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to synthesize customer, product usage, financial, and market data into actionable account and growth strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex books of business involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly understand, master, and communicate sophisticated FinTech SaaS products and workflows.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and sound business judgment, with the ability to remain calm, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a growth-stage organization where processes may need to be created, refined, and scaled.
  • Self-directed approach to learning, with the curiosity and adaptability needed to rapidly develop expertise in new markets, products, and customer challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across product, finance, leadership, and other internal functions.
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities for both executive-level customer interactions and internal strategic discussions.
