Intern – Business Operations & Construction-(Various Locations) in Dallas, Texas at Penhall Company

Penhall is seeking motivated, dependable, and career-minded Interns who are interested in gaining meaningful, hands-on experience within the concrete cutting, GPR, utility locating, and construction services industry.

This internship provides an opportunity to gain exposure to real-world business operations while developing professional skills, industry knowledge, and practical experience alongside experienced Penhall team members.

Interns may be considered for opportunities within Account Management, Project Engineering, Estimating, Business Development, Concrete Cutting, Ground Penetrating Radar Utility Locating, and Construction Laborers based on business needs. We provide overall on-site administrative and technical management on construction project site. This position is normally one of independent project supervision on small to medium size to large projects.

Key Relationships:

Internal

• Superintendents, Project Manager, Contracts Manager
• Shop Manager/Dispatch, Mechanics, Technicians, Laborers, Equipment Operators, Administrative Staff

Specific Role Responsibilities:

• Daily Assistance with logistical phases of project functions
• Track: Labor/Equipment/Productivity/ and production time and analysis
• Interface with Contractors, Superintendents and Project Managers as needed
• Change order execution and tracking
• Project Billing
• Material cost Tracking and Processing
• Some travel to remote job sites as needed.
• Plan Take Offs, specification interpretation
• Assist with coordinating crews and timelines
• Daily reporting of project progress
• Represent company/project in meetings with client, subcontractors, unions, etc., as required
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Travel:

• Daily to various job sites

• Computer/Office Machines – Microsoft Work, Excel, Outlook
• English – proficient in business writing and verbal communication
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required when duties require use of motor vehicle
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random screening for illegal substances
