• Understand the course objectives for the course which adjunct faculty is assigned and be familiar with the overall curriculum of the College of Nursing.
• Provide supervision of students in the classroom (in-person or online) or clinical setting.
• If a clinical course, visit students in their precepted clinical sites at least two times a semester.
• Provide supervision of students in weekly case presentations groups.
• Prepare student to develop competent clinical decision-making capability by facilitating sound clinical reasoning and critical thinking techniques.
• Foster communication skills with preceptors and course faculty. Validate students’ understanding of theoretical, scientific, and evidence based practice.
• If in clinical course, evaluate students’ clinical practice and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of clinical objectives by completing a formal Clinical Evaluation.
• Guide students in their growth within the nursing profession.
• Validate students’ understanding of theoretical, scientific and evidence-based concepts to meet course objectives.
• Evaluate and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of course and clinical objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in discipline; Experience in discipline required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in academic teaching and willingness to be flexible in fulfilling responsibilities.
• Doctoral Degree Preferred.
