About Cork Potential – Our Internship Program
Cork Potential is ACS’s flagship internship program, designed to challenge and inspire final-year students and recent graduates through real-world business problems. Over the course of 5 months, each intern will be assigned a strategic project that directly addresses a key need within the company.
The program includes:
- A dedicated project supervisor
- Monthly follow-up meetings to track progress
- A final Pitch Day, where interns present their solutions to a panel of senior leaders
The winning intern will receive a $1,000 scholarship to invest in further training or education.
Outstanding performance may lead to an employment offer at ACS.
Proposed Problem
As part of our ongoing commitment to strategic growth, there is an opportunity to strengthen our understanding of market dynamics in key segments, particularly within the North American (NAM) region. Gaining deeper insights into pricing structures, competitive positioning, and product trends will support data-driven decision-making and help identify new opportunities for value creation.
Project & Main Objectives
The intern will conduct an in-depth market analysis focused on the finished floors, underlayment, and rubber segments in NAM. The main goals of this project include:
- Identifying and benchmarking pricing structures across key product categories
- Researching product and color trends, including opportunities for wall applications using Amorim technology
- Analyzing competitor positioning to assess where Amorim stands and where there is potential to develop or enhance offerings
- Providing strategic recommendations based on data to support sales and product development decisions
Key Expected Results
- A structured and data-driven market overview of the flooring sector in NAM
- Insights into customer expectations, competitor strategies, and product gaps
- A clear pricing analysis that supports stronger margin strategies and improved sales positioning
- Strategic guidance to help the business identify new product or segment opportunities and increase competitiveness
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for an analytical, research-driven intern with a passion for market intelligence and strategic thinking.
Academic Background:
- Final-year student or recent graduate in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Technical Communication, or Instructional Design
IT Skills:
- Proficiency in Power BI and Excel
- Strong data visualization and analytical capabilities
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable dashboards and insights
Other Skills:
- Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills
- Business Acumen
- Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate findings clearly
- Basic understanding of business and sales workflows is a plus
