DIXIE METAL PRODUCTS – Steel/Miscellaneous Metals Detailer

Dixie Metal Products (“Dixie”) is seeking an experienced Detailer/Drafter who will translate engineering designs into the precise shop drawings and fabrication packages. the candidate will work across a diverse mix of structural steel and aluminum components – from substation structures and cable trays to vertical access systems like ladders, stairs, platforms, and handrails built for demanding utility environments. The Detailer will collaborate closely with project engineers, fabricators, and field crews to ensure all drawings are complete, coordinated, and ready for fabrication.

WHAT THE ROLE DOES:

· Produce accurate detailed shop drawings and erection plans unassisted.

· Review and assess current work for accuracy and adherence to specifications.

· Communicate project details to management.

· Revise, update and retain ongoing projects and repeat designs with needed alterations.

· Check drawings that are being released for fabrication with the knowledge of AISC, AWS, and NISD standards.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

· Previous Detailing experience with knowledge of Auto CAD, Tekla Structures, Advanced Steel or comparable detailing software.

· Working knowledge of the AISC Steel Construction Manual, AWS welding standards, and ASTM material standards and OSHA requirements.

· Understanding of NISD standards and practical shop fabrications.

· Must be able to read and understand contract drawings, standard specifications, standard drawings and shop drawings.

· Local to Ocala, FL area.
