About This Position
SUMMARY: The Senior Financial Analyst serves as a vital link between data and operational strategy, providing high-level analytical support to ensure health system goals are met. This role requires a blend of high-level individual ownership and seamless team integration. This role requires a self-directed professional who can independently navigate complex data challenges while contributing to the team's collective goal of providing a unified 'single source of truth' for the health system. This role will utilize their financial and systems expertise to discover significant trends in hospital business lines, develop forecasts of the impact of those trends, and deliver actionable information to hospital leaders to ensure an optimal response to those trends. This position reports to the Director of Business Intelligence and contributes to a collaborative environment of shared knowledge and peer review.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in an analytical, financial, or business intelligence role. Experience in data collection, financial modeling, project management, data analysis, problem-solving, and team building is required. Experience in cost containment and expense management preferred. The ideal candidate is able to work independently, as part of a team, and can build strong, trust-based relationships with clinical and administrative leaders.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Advanced proficiency in Excel, familiarity with healthcare-specific datasets (claims, CPT/DRG), and cost accounting methodologies is preferred. Proficiency in Power BI or modern data visualization platforms is a significant plus.
OTHER: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The incumbent must possess the executive presence to present findings to leadership and the technical curiosity to continuously optimize business processes and data integrity.
EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field
