Job Overview:
The Psychiatric Emergency Department Technician (PEDT) is an individual who assists the health care professionals in the delivery of care to patients. Possesses the ability to collect, assess or retrieve data reflective of the patient s status relative to his/her age. Interprets and evaluates the appropriate information needed to identify each patient s needs and requirements relative to patient outcome. The PEDT provides care under the direction of the Registered Nurse utilizing the skills and techniques established within job requirements.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current BLS Certificate
- At least one year patient care experience
Preferred:
- At least one year of behavioral health experience, preferred
- EKG and phlebotomy experience, preferred
Scheduling Requirements
- Evening Shift
- Part Time
Essential Functions:
- Maintains successful completion of all Orientation Programs to include Iron Temple Training
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 7.5 hours
- Three shifts per week 3p-11p with alternating weekends
- Required to work 2 holidays per year
