Job Description
At K2 Medical Research, we are transforming healthcare by delivering tomorrow’s treatments today. As a rapidly growing clinical research organization across Florida, Tennessee, and Rhode Island, we lead multiphasic trials in therapeutic areas ranging from neurodegenerative to cardiometabolic medicine. Our culture is grounded in clinical excellence and a patient-first mission. We are seeking mission-driven individuals ready to play a meaningful role in bringing life-changing treatments to the patients who need them most.
K2 is seeking a dynamic and strategic Community Engagement Director to lead regional outreach and elevate clinical research as a recognized care option across the communities we serve. This role operates in close partnership with the VP of Engagement and Strategic Initiatives, contributing to the design and execution of enterprise-level outreach strategies that drive awareness, access, and patient engagement.
The Community Engagement Director will oversee a team of Community Connectors and be accountable for building a high-impact, community-centered engagement model. This individual will serve as a visible ambassador for K2, confidently representing the organization through public speaking, educational programming, and strategic relationship development. The ideal candidate brings an established network of community relationships and the ability to translate those connections into meaningful engagement and growth opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Performance Management: Lead, develop, and inspire a team of Community Connectors supporting assigned K2 clinics. Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability frameworks. Foster a culture of ownership, consistency, and results-driven execution.
- Strategic Leadership & Executive Alignment: Partner directly with the VP of Engagement and Strategic Initiatives to shape and execute regional outreach strategy aligned with organizational growth priorities. Translate company’s goals into actionable, market-specific engagement plans. Provide strategic insight and feedback from the field to inform broader engagement initiatives.
- Regional Outreach & Thought Leadership: Design and lead high-impact outreach initiatives that build awareness and trust within the community. Represent K2 as a confident and compelling public speaker at educational presentations, community forums, and industry events when needed and provide guidance to community connectors to be able to perform these tasks independently. In collaboration with senior leadership, develop and deliver educational programming that positions clinical research as a viable and accessible care option.
- Community Relationship Development: Leverage existing relationships and cultivate new partnerships with community leaders, healthcare providers, and local organizations. Establish long-term, strategic collaborations that drive sustained engagement and referral pathways. Serve as a trusted liaison between K2 clinics and the communities they serve.
- Lead Generation & Market Expansion: Drive targeted, community-based lead generation strategies aligned with clinic capabilities and study needs. Identify and activate new channels for patient engagement and recruitment. Ensure effective follow-through to convert community engagement into qualified patient pipelines.
- Clinic Integration & Market Intelligence: Develop a deep understanding of each clinic’s book of business, patient demographics, and specialty focus. Align outreach efforts with clinical capabilities and active study opportunities. Identify market gaps and recommend strategies to expand reach and impact.
- Brand Visibility & Positioning: Strengthen K2’s presence and reputation within key markets through consistent and strategic engagement. Ensure messaging aligns with organizational brand and clearly communicates the value of clinical research. Collaborate cross-functionally to align outreach with marketing and growth initiatives.
- Performance Analytics & Reporting: Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators related to outreach effectiveness and lead generation. Continuously refine strategies based on data and market feedback. Provide reporting on engagement outcomes and growth opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated leadership in community engagement, outreach strategy, or business development
- Established network of community relationships with the ability to quickly build trust and influence
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and drive measurable outcomes
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into action
