About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant General Manager to support the delivery of a large-scale, immersive exhibition experience. Working closely with the General Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing daily operations, leading teams, and ensuring an exceptional guest journey from arrival through to exit.
This is a dynamic, fast-paced position suited to someone who thrives in live environments such as exhibitions, events, retail, or hospitality. The role requires flexibility, including weekend work and early starts.
Key Responsibilities
Support the General Manager in overseeing all operational aspects of the exhibition
Lead, motivate, and manage a large, diverse team
Oversee retail operations and drive performance
Coordinate ticketing processes and guest flow
Manage administrative duties and reporting requirements
Deliver high-quality hospitality and customer service standards
Ensure a seamless and engaging visitor experience
About the Experience
The exhibition is a large-scale, interactive indoor walk-through. Guests will check in, scan their tickets, and be guided through an immersive environment before concluding their journey in a curated retail gift shop. This is a unique opportunity to work within a creative space inspired by film, production, and theatre.
About You
We are looking for a proactive and adaptable professional with strong operational and people management skills. You will bring a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences and the ability to lead from the front.
Required Experience
3-5+ years in senior operations roles within high-volume environments (events, exhibitions, retail or hospitality)
Proven leadership of large teams, including supervisors and casual workforce
End-to-end operational control: rostering, staffing, guest flow, and floor management
Accountability for retail performance, ticketing systems, and high-volume guest entry (1,000+ per day)
Strong operational discipline across reporting, compliance, and WHS in live environments
