Maintenance Engineer
The Maintenance Engineer is a highly skilled, detailed oriented and experienced specialist that plays a crucial role to ensure that our specialized machinery and equipment operate safely, efficiently and reliable.
They are responsible to assure adequate preventative maintenance, diagnose and troubleshoot, repair mechanical, electrical, control and hydraulic faults while ensuring minimum downtime and maximizing reliability. They also participate in equipment installation and improvement projects.
Key responsibilities include defining maintenance and improvement plans, planning maintenance schedules planning, assigning and supervising maintenance technicians, and coordination with operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Ensures the safe seamless operation and longevity of equipment and systems, by developing and implementing preventative maintenance strategies to minimize unexpected breakdown and optimize reliability, yet efficiently.
- Assure regular inspection and condition checks, to identify potential issues early through diligent oversight and execution (Schedule)
- Support teams to efficiently diagnose, repair and test the equipment to ensure proper operational functionality enabling the manufacturing of high accuracy aerospace parts
- Assures that unscheduled repairs are executed in a minimum timeframe assuring highest technical availability of equipment.
- Support development of maintenance schedules, equipment projects to enhance reliability and cost
- Ensure that all equipment and facilities comply with health, safety and industrial regulations (like lockout/tagout,)
- Coordinate and supervise external vendors and contractors for specialized reviews, repairs and modifications.
- Assures documentation on maintenance and equipment performance, detailed logs on repairs and modifications
- Maintains logistic and purchasing oversight, including warehousing
- Oversee the removal and installation of equipment and machines
- Coordinates with manufacturing / operations on maintenance slots.
- Train staff on asset maintenance procedures
- Set and track maintenance goals and KPI.
- Budget and budget tracking
Skills and Required Qualifications:
- Have a wide range of robust technical skills (mechanical, electrical, control, hydraulic) and problem-solving abilities, allowing to identify the root cause of equipment failures and developing both immediate as well as long-term solutions enhancing reliability.
- Strategic asset management skills allowing to prevent future breakdowns through routine, cost-effective maintenance
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and team management skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with maintenance technicians, production and operational staff, and other stakeholders. They must be able to convey complex technical information clearly and work as part of a team to ensure smooth operations.
- Experience with CMMS
- Budget skills, being able to plan, track and report spending
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 4-8 years of experience in maintenance of mechanical manufacturing equipment
