Position Description
The Marketing and Communications Associate will partner with the marketing and communications team (MarCom) to help streamline and optimize department operations and help ensure that projects are developed, launched and completed on time and in budget. Reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager and collaborates with Associate Directors and Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Become proficient in all MarketingandCommunications platforms and software
- Assistwith administrative tasks including purchasing, request management,and project/timeline maintenance
- Develop weekly newsletter content in coordination withManager andAssociateDirector
- Foster relationships across School departments to help develop clear lines of communication organization-wide
- Schedule photo and video shoots on and off campus as instructed by theManager,AssociateDirectorand/or Director
- Attend on-campus events as a representative of the Marcom team; take photos and notes for website or publication stories
- Maintain the websiteand internal portal, including completing day-to-day updates and copy changes, andassistwith monthly analytics reporting
- Organize, edit, and maintainWindward’sdigital photo and video archive, as well as the organization’s overall archives, as needed.
- Managethe “Communications” inbox
- Develop promotional communication materials such as printouts, pamphlets, andwebpages in coordination with staff.
- Serve as communications liaison to internal audiences requesting assistance
- Manage constituent database online and distribution lists for emails; ensure database accuracy andparticipatein annual database update process.
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Excellent project management, organization, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to understand, capture, tell, and depict stories that convey the mission and tone of The Windward School
- Experience with design and communications software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva,Wordpress, Constant Contact, HubSpot,HootSuite, FMX)
