Weekends and on-call shifts as needed
New Grads &/or Current students in the final months of their surgical technologist program are welcome to apply!
JOB SUMMARY:
Assists surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. Handles and cares for all surgical instrumentation in accordance with departmental and manufacturer’s recommended guidelines.
Ensure aseptic technique is followed during all sterile procedures. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Minimum age of 18 years
-
Completion of a surgical technologist program, with certification preferred OR a minimum of 3 years of experience as a surgical technologist
-
Lives within 30 minutes travel time of the hospital
-
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
-
Able to take emergency call 3pm to 7am weekdays and 24-hour call on weekends on rotating schedule
-
Current CPR certification
-
Basic Computer knowledge
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking and standing
-
Able to frequently life at least 60 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel
-
Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to read and write
-
Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the phone
-
Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately observe, monitor, and administer care
-
Possesses fine monitor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e.: finger stick blood sugars, vital signs, and handle instruments)
