About This Position
A Bartender at Pullman Market holds an hourly position and plays a key role in the overall success of the restaurant’s bar operations. This individual is responsible for the daily execution, consistency, and organization of the bar program—ensuring that all beverages meet the high-quality standards of Pullman Market. From preparing craft cocktails and engaging with guests to maintaining bar cleanliness and supporting inventory needs, the bartender is expected to provide exceptional service while contributing to the atmosphere and flow of the restaurant.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Service Leader: Take a leading role in the bar each day by promoting positivity, high service and hospitality standards, and strong teamwork. Consistently seek ways to enhance hospitality, service, and efficiency across all areas of the restaurant.
- Communication: It is their role to vocalize any potential operational issues to in-house house management and the Beverage Director.
- Bar Program: Ability to work within their restaurant and execute the program as outlined by the Bar Director and Management Team.
- Orders: Provide daily updates to the assistant general manager concerning low and 86’d items.
- Inventory: Assist in conducting a bi-weekly inventory using Binwise.
- Prep: Completes weekly prep for the bar including production of all syrups and infusions. Tests daily batches from other team members to ensure consistency of product.
- Cleanliness: Ensure the daily opening and closing checklists are completed appropriately
- Reviews: This position will receive bi-annual performance reviews from the Assistant General Manager and the Beverage Director.
Personal Requirements:
- Be an ambassador for the company and maintain professionalism in and outside of work.
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A genuine passion for locally sourced products and culinary offerings is advantageous.
- TABC and Texas Food Handler Certificate required.
Working Conditions:
- A typical work week for this position is 40-45 hours. Hours vary based on needs of the market and the department.
- Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting objects up to 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Exposure to hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment is possible.
- Familiarity with office equipment such as phones, computers, fax machines, and copiers may be required.
