About This Position
Superior Metal Technologies is looking for a manufacturing EHS Coordinator to handle all aspects of environmental, safety and program leadership compliance in our 120,000 square foot paint and anodizing facility. In this position the right person will be able to plan, execute and assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommends improvements in methods, equipment, procedures and working conditions. This position drives continuous improvement through the plant operation and may lead others as necessary to maintain a high level of morale. Duties: Where safety is always our top priority, balance safety, quality, cost, productivity and achieving positive results in all areas. Demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment and safety and health management program. Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed and completes these tasks or coordinates with contractors/vendors as needed. The ideal candidate must be able to perform the above duties in a safe and efficient manner.
Environmental Compliance: (Priority Focus)
- Lead site environmental programs including wastewater, air emissions, stormwater, SPCC, hazardous waste, and waste minimization.
- Maintain required environmental records, inspections, sampling, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Support environmental audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
Program Leadership & Compliance
- Align site EHS programs with corporate and divisional standards.
- Support development, implementation, and maintenance of safety and environmental programs.
- Coordinate industrial hygiene sampling and related projects.
- Maintain accurate EHS documentation, training records, and compliance files.
Safety Culture & Engagement
- Lead and strengthen the site safety committee.
- Promote injury prevention through engagement, coaching, and visible leadership.
- Lead development and maintenance of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Track and communicate completion of supervisor-led safety activities (SOCs, IFEs, pre-shift meetings)
- Represent EHS at Tier 3 meetings and communicate priorities clearly.
Incident Management & Continuous Improvement
- Manage incident reporting, First Reports of Injury, and corrective action tracking.
- Support Investigation and ensure timely root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Monitor restricted duty, return-to-work, and injury treatment progress.
- Maintain key metrics (recordables, lost time, restricted duty, TRIR).
- Identify and lead improvements that reduce injuries and environmental impacts.
Project Support & Risk Reduction
- Partner with engineering, maintenance, and operations on hazard-mitigation and capital projects.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
- Track and report quarterly and annual ESG metrics.
Training & Development
- Support delivery of EHS training programs and evaluate effectiveness
- Coach supervisors and employees to strengthen ownership of safety responsibilities
- Perform additional duties to support overall plant EHS performance

• 2–4 years of experience in general industry EHS compliance, with strong environmental experience (wastewater, air permitting, stormwater, SPCC, hazardous waste).
• Self motivation and initiative — able to work independently and take ownership.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
• Proven ability to build trust and engagement with hourly employees.
• Experience managing multiple projects and providing clear updates to leadership.
• Strong problem solving skills in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
• Proficiency with EHS management systems and digital reporting tools.
• Degree and/or safety/environmental certifications preferred but not required.
• A mindset of ownership, follow through, and proactive issue identification.
