| Required License/Registration/Certification | Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire. |
| Physical Requirements | May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds. |
| Shift | Monday thru Friday; 8:00 am to 4:00pm. Hours and days of the week may vary based on the needs and the growth of the department. Holidays are not currently a requirement, but always subject to change. |
| Job Summary | This position will serve as a direct liaison to UK Healthcare- St. Claire, providing a variety of specialty and primary care pharmacy patient services including benefits investigation, obtaining prior authorizations, enrolling patients in financial support programs, and coordinating first-time dispenses and refills for medications prescribed within the health system. Will work closely with clinical and pharmacy staff on site and with UK Specialty Pharmacy and Infusion Services staff to improve access to medications for a variety of subspecialty and primary care disease states. Assists service area leadership in administrative duties including training, coaching, and evaluating progress of new employee learning, retraining if needed, creating, and maintaining service line SOPs, staff scheduling of techs and interns including call ins and arranging coverage as needed. Provides regular staff communication and assists with leading regular team meetings. Shall perform other miscellaneous job-related tasks/activities as assigned by the supervising pharmacist. This position has some opportunity for remote work, but the primary work location will be in Morehead, Ky at UK St. Claire Healthcare. Also, will require occasional on-site work at UK Specialty Pharmacy located in Lexington, Ky. |
