Job Overview:
The Financial Coordinator will manage claims processing specifically for pre-transplant procedures and ensure accurate billing using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) hospital and provider claim work queues.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or proof of completion (GED)
- Proven experience in medical billing and claims processing, preferably in a healthcare setting
- In-depth knowledge of medical billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies.
- Emphasis on computer literacy and communication skills, such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, or a related field
- Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic health record systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Successful completion of all training and orientation programs.

Essential Functions:
- Coordinates various aspects of financial reimbursement for the transplant program
- Provides quality service to patients by performing a comprehensive assessment of their insurance status prior to transplant
- Maintains quality standards by documenting all information related to financial issues and provides maintenance of relationships through constant communication with transplant team members and outside consumers/providers
- Manage claims processing specifically for pre-transplant procedures and ensure accurate billing using the Electronic Medical Record hospital and provider claim work queues
- Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to reviewing, approving, and processing claims, conducting high-level analysis on reimbursement and claims management to optimize revenue cycle performance as well as resolving patient and provider complaints.
