Inside Sales Associate


Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Inside Sales Associate to support sales operations and customer service efforts across the GTA. This role specializes in Ready Mix Concrete and Building materials such as lumber, insulation, cement, aggregates, steel, hardware, and disposal bin services. The position involves order processing, customer support, sales coordination, and internal communication to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.


Key Responsibilities

Sales Support & Order Management

  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently using internal systems.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person regarding product availability, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment.
  • Assist outside sales representatives with quotes, proposals, and account updates.

Product & Technical Expertise

  • Maintain working knowledge of building materials including lumber, insulation, cement, aggregates, steel, hardware, and disposal bin services.
  • Support customers with product selection, specifications, and application guidance.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve product-related issues.

Customer Service & Account Coordination

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, developers, and walk-in customers.
  • Monitor customer accounts for order history, credit status, and service performance.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.

Sales Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records in CRM systems including quotes, orders, and customer interactions.
  • Generate sales reports and assist with forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Support accounts receivable follow-up and documentation.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business, marketing, or construction-related fields preferred.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in inside sales or customer service within the construction or building materials industry.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong product knowledge of building materials and construction supplies.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/order management software.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is an asset
  • ACI Level I Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days) is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role with frequent interaction with customers and internal teams.
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 30 lbs and use of personal protective equipment as required.
