Job Description
The Admissions Lead is responsible for assessment screening and placement, verifying eligibility as well as verifying and coordinating outside services prior to entry to Key Recovery. This position will maintain proper communication with necessary parties to orchestrate transportation arrangements and all pre-intake needs. Assist Clinical and Administrative teams by engaging with and supervising patients' admissions. Ensures admission team provides exceptional customer service while admitting individuals into residential care, orienting, and assisting patients in complying with program and treatment requirements consistent with all clinical policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:?
- Responsible for documenting the potential patient's needed information and qualifying them for treatment according to the standards of Key Recovery and Life Skills Center.
- Based on prescreen information and assessment worksheet, work with Intake team to acquire necessary ROIs per referent to coordinate medical services. Verify medical conditions and coordinate care with existing providers to include mental health, scheduling appointments etc.
- Ensure all necessary medications to include MOUD will be provided/available at time of entry into the program. Work directly with the referent, medical provider, and pharmacies as needed prior to and at admission. All medication information will be sent to the Medication Liaison.
- Coordinate with the Intake Coordinator and provide all documentation prior to patient's arrival at Key Recovery for admissions.
- Ensure new patients coming to Key Recovery have the necessary psychiatric medications and can continue care with existing providers. Communicate with and pass all other pertinent information to the Case Management team.
- Make sure the Case Management team is aware of high priority patient medical needs to initiate new services.
- Serves as back-up to Intake Coordinator.
Admissions/Intake Functions:
- Leads the admission and admittance process of new patients. Provides guidance to staff participating in patient orientation, entering data into electronic health records and updating other clinical staff with newly admitted patient needs. Supports staff in problem solving through the process.
- Answers and responds immediately to telephone inquiries concerning potential client admissions.
- Collaborates and communicates with referral sources and provides updates when bed dates are available.
- Works with treatment centers to gather the most up to date clinical information and discharge summaries about referrals.
- Assists in the verification of patients meeting admission and financial criteria for admission.?
- Collaborates with the utilization review and business office regarding any financial or authorization needs.
- Schedules the admission, updates the admission calendar and communicates to clinical team in daily huddles.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with referents such as doctors, clinicians, facilities, and families.??Assist outreach efforts as designed/requested by leadership.????
- Documents all inquiries and admissions activities to assist with monthly marketing report.??
- Communicates assessment information to the treatment team and clinical leadership.??
- Other duties, as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- Must have associate degree in human services or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Prefer prior experience as a Substance Use Disorder Professional/Trainee.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role/sector.
- Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR software.
