Job Title: Nurse Aide

Location: The Birthplace at Canton - Potsdam Hospital

Hours Per Week: 22.5

Schedule: Variable days, 7.5 hour work shifts; 2 pm to 10pm and 10 pm to 6 am, every other weekend and holiday

SUMMARY:

The nurse aid works under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff to provide direct patient care in accordance with established hospital policies, procedures and protocols.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs and documents direct comprehensive, family and patient centered care under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff.

• Provides world class customer service to patients and families.

• Reports patient conditions directly to licensed nursing staff to achieve positive patient outcomes.

• Maintains a safe and clean patient and family centered environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• American Heart Association Basic Life Saving Certification (AHA BLS)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Evidence of successful completion of a nurse aide training course at hire and previous experience as a nurse aide.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $18.64 - $26.43

Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
