Job Description

Position Title: Barista

Position Summary: The Barista will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee and tea beverages while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

  • Three (3) years’ experience working as a Barista preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience working in a fast-food environment required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service:
    • Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately and efficiently.
    • Provide knowledgeable responses to questions regarding menu items and ingredients.
    • Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor throughout customer interactions.
  • Beverage Preparation:
    • Prepare espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages following recipes and quality standards.
    • Operate coffee brewing equipment, grinders, and other machinery correctly and safely.
    • Ensure beverages are prepared quickly without compromising quality.
  • Quality Control:
    • Uphold high standards of beverage quality and consistency.
    • Monitor freshness of ingredients and discard expired items promptly.
    • Taste-test drinks regularly to ensure adherence to taste and presentation guidelines.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance:
    • Keep work areas, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitized.
    • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
    • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks for equipment.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a smooth workflow.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure efficient operations.
    • Assist in training new baristas as needed.
  • Cash Handling:
    • Process customer payments accurately using POS systems.
    • Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions responsibly.
    • Maintain accurate cash drawer balances at the end of shifts.
  • Customer Experience:
    • Ensure customers have a positive experience through attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere.
    • Address customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
    • Anticipate customer needs and provide personalized recommendations when appropriate
  • Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
  • Consistently display effective verbal communication skills.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by department leadership
