East Arkansas Family Health Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to provide high-quality primary healthcare services within our School-Based Health Center in Forrest City, Arkansas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to pediatric and adolescent patients in a school-based clinic.
  • Perform age-appropriate physical examinations and health assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, minor injuries, and stable chronic health conditions.
  • Conduct annual wellness exams, sports physicals, and preventive health screenings.
  • Administer immunizations in accordance with state guidelines.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments within Arkansas scope of practice.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate follow-up care.
  • Educate students, parents, and guardians regarding illnesses, medications, nutrition, preventive health, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with school nurses, counselors, administrators, physicians, behavioral health providers, and community resources to support student health.
  • Identify students requiring referrals for specialty care and coordinate continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic health records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and school wellness activities.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HRSA, OSHA, state regulations, and organizational policies.
QualificationsRequired
  • Graduation from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current, unrestricted Arkansas Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
  • National certification appropriate to specialty.
  • Current DEA registration and Arkansas prescriptive authority.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
Preferred
  • Pediatric, family practice, school health, urgent care, or community health experience.
  • Experience caring for pediatric and adolescent populations.
  • ACLS and PALS certification preferred.
  • Experience using electronic health records (EHR).
  • Strong assessment, communication, and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Passion for improving the health and well-being of children and adolescents.
