Job Description
The Section 508 Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all digital content, documents, and multimedia products meet Section 508 accessibility standards and comply with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended. The specialist will evaluate, remediate, and develop accessible digital products while providing guidance and best practices to project teams to ensure accessibility is integrated throughout the content development lifecycle. Hiring for this role is dependent upon LMD Agency being awarded the associated government contract and receiving authorization to proceed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all digital deliverables comply with Section 508 accessibility standards and applicable federal accessibility requirements.
- Review, remediate, and validate the accessibility of Microsoft Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, and other electronic documents.
- Ensure accessibility compliance for digital products, including:
- Images and graphics
- Videos and multimedia
- Infographics
- Interactive products and web-based content
- Create and maintain Section 508-compliant document and presentation templates for organizational use.
- Perform accessibility testing using industry-standard tools and assistive technologies.
- Identify accessibility issues and provide recommendations for remediation.
- Collaborate with content creators, designers, developers, and project stakeholders to incorporate accessibility requirements throughout project development.
- Stay current with evolving Section 508 standards, WCAG guidelines, and federal accessibility requirements.
- Provide guidance and training to team members on accessibility best practices and compliance requirements.
- Document accessibility findings and maintain records of compliance reviews and remediation efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently holds, or is able to obtain, DHS Fitness Determination.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience supporting Section 508 compliance or digital accessibility initiatives.
- Demonstrated proficiency in ensuring Section 508 compliance for:
- Microsoft Word documents
- Microsoft PowerPoint presentations
- Digital products
- Images and graphics
- Videos
- Infographics
- Interactive content
- Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining Section 508-compliant templates.
- Strong knowledge of Section 508 standards, WCAG 2.1 guidelines, and accessibility best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience supporting federal government agencies or government contractors.
- Experience using accessibility evaluation and remediation tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Accessibility Checker, Microsoft Accessibility Checker, CommonLook, JAWS, NVDA, or similar assistive technologies.
- Familiarity with HTML, ARIA, and accessible web design principles.
- Professional certifications related to digital accessibility (e.g., IAAP Certified Professional in
- Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS), or equivalent) are

This position is part of a proposal effort and is contingent upon LMD Agency being awarded the associated contract and receiving funding and/or government authorization to begin work. Candidates may be interviewed and selected in advance to support a timely project launch; however, employment cannot begin unless and until the contract is awarded and all pre-employment requirements are successfully completed.

The pay range for this role is:
72,500 - 92,500 USD per year(Remote)
