Security Coordinator in Washington, District of Columbia at District of Columbia Bar

The Security Coordinator will provide security support for the DC Bar Pro Bono Center’s Advice & Referral (A&R) clinics. The Security Coordinator will monitor the premises, control access, respond to security concerns, and maintain a safe and secure environment during A&R clinics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinates with A&R clinic staff and building security to control access to A&R clinic facilities.
• Monitors clinic areas and directs on-site security officers to maintain safety throughout the suite.
• Maintains a visible security presence and deters unauthorized or suspicious activity.
• Notifies appropriate personnel of emergencies, disturbances, and security incidents.
• Assists visitors, and clients with questions or concerns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Strong observation skills.
• Conflict resolution skills and ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to interact, including in-person, with Bar members, volunteers, vendors, the public and Pro Bono Center and Bar employees.
• Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
