East Arkansas Family Health Center is seeking a dedicated and qualified Staff Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. This position is responsible for accurately dispensing medications, counseling patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions, and helping ensure safe and effective medication therapy.
The Staff Pharmacist will collaborate with healthcare providers to verify prescriptions, address medication-related concerns, and support appropriate therapy. This position also assists with pharmacy operations, supervises pharmacy technicians, manages medication inventory, and ensures compliance with pharmacy policies and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

- Fill and dispense prescriptions accurately and in accordance with prescriptions, applicable regulations, and pharmacy policies.
- Review prescribed medications for potential drug interactions and compatibility with other medications the patient is taking.
- Counsel patients regarding proper medication use.
- Maintain accurate prescription records and required controlled substance documentation.
- Communicate with healthcare providers regarding medication adherence, prescriptions, and medication-related concerns.
- Order medications and pharmacy supplies, review invoices, and monitor inventory for expired medications.
- Assist with annual pharmacy inventory.
- Ensure prescriptions and insurance claims are processed appropriately and in compliance with fraud, waste, and abuse requirements.
- Maintain all required licenses and continuing education requirements.
- Complete medication therapy management tasks in MTM Outcomes.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians in accordance with applicable pharmacy requirements.
- Collaborate and consult with healthcare providers regarding medications and patient care.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
- Comply with HIPAA, OSHA, credentialing, safety, infection control, and other applicable organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Complete all assigned MedTrainer courses and attestations.
- Provide relief staffing at other EAFHC pharmacy locations as needed to ensure continuity of pharmacy services.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
- Board certification/licensure as required to practice pharmacy.
- Completion of required pharmacy internship.
- Clear knowledge of the administration and appropriate use of medications.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers, pharmacy technicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Must maintain all licenses and continuing education requirements necessary for the position.
Hours: 11:00 am to 8:00 pm
