Description:

Presto Distribution Center is seeking a full-time (32 hours per week) Human Resource Generalist to join our growing team at our new facility in Nettleton, MS. This location supports the distribution of National Presto Industries' houseware products, and we're looking for a motivated, knowledgeable HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will be a key partner in driving HR initiatives and supporting our employees throughout the facility. We are seeking someone who is energetic, adaptable, and confident working independently while effectively prioritizing the needs of both the team and the operation. The Human Resource Generalist will collaborate closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager to ensure the facility is fully staffed and well supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruiting activities, including partnering with staffing agencies, reviewing applications, interviewing candidates, and supporting the hiring process.
  • Complete and monitor all pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screenings, and new hire paperwork.
  • Maintain employee training and certification records.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and support a positive onboarding experience.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and supervisors on HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Plan and support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure employee records are accurate and up to date.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers to address performance, attendance, disciplinary, and employee relations matters.
  • Assist with workplace safety programs and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate OSHA recordkeeping, training, and reporting activities.
  • Facilitate Safety Committee meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare HR reports and audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of three years of previous HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or warehouse
  • Knowledge of HR policy, procedure and employment law

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and effectively communicate with employees at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position generally works in an office environment; however, there are times it may be necessary to be in the warehouse, which may include extreme temperatures.
