Job Description
Job Summary
The Assistant Vice President – Tax Credit Investments, Capital Deployment and Asset Management is a hybrid role that requires both a strategic and data-driven mindset, with responsibilities spanning across process improvement and implementation, capital deployment, technical performance management, investor reporting, and data analytics. This role will report to the VP – Tax Credit Investments, Capital Deployment and Asset Management, and work closely with internal teams (finance, data, legal, IT) and external stakeholders to ensure strong returns and operational excellence across our portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Complete the due diligence review for tax credit fundings, including but not limited to contract review, independent engineer report review, and appraisal review for mechanical completion and substantial completion tax credit financing fundings.
• Review sponsor-provided financial models for accuracy and consistency with underwriting assumptions and due diligence, flagging discrepancies as needed.
• Provide Investors with the documentation and analysis required for their review and approval.
• Manage the Investor capital call process.
• Work with the Tax Credit Investment team to identify inefficiencies, improve workflows, and implement stronger process and document retention practices.
• Monitor performance and operations of solar and storage assets on an as-needed basis, using industry-standard asset management and monitoring platforms to track output and identify issues. Work with sponsors to understand performance issues and impacts on the financial performance of the investments.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reporting for investors and internal leadership, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations, financial covenants, and ESG commitments.
• Coordinate investor data requests, audit support, and related reporting needs.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, models, and automated reporting workflows to track asset performance, financial metrics, and compliance data.
• Use data analytics and visualization tools to identify trends, flag anomalies, enhance portfolio intelligence, and support improved investment returns.
• Collaborate with internal and external finance and accounting teams to review financial statements, compile budgets and forecasts, conduct variance analysis, and monitor credit underwriting and LLCA compliance.
• Track PPA, operations and maintenance, land lease, and other contract obligations to ensure compliance and value maximization.
• Support project valuations, refinancing, and mergers and acquisitions due diligence with operational insights.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another related field. MBA, CFA, and/or CPA preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
Four or more years of related experience in renewable energy project finance, including familiarity with PPA structures, operational contracts, tax credits, and deal structuring.
• Proven experience in building and presenting investor-level reporting.
Detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with technical, financial, internal, and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability and commitment to using AI tools and related technology to streamline reporting, data analysis, and process workflows.
Proficient in financial modeling, valuation, and financial accounting principles.
• Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
• Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
Prior experience with Monday.com or investment management software preferred.
