Your Mission

Support mission-focused security administration in Norfolk, Virginia by assisting with security databases, access control operations, visit requests, badging, records management, and security program support. This role helps ensure accurate security information, timely access coordination, and compliance with government and command security procedures.


What You’ll Do

As a Security Administrative Assistant, you will support command security operations through the following responsibilities:

· Database and System Management: Provide technical support for Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Ships Visit Request (SHVR) databases.

· Assist with security planning, development, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance by gathering and presenting security data.

· Support MARMC Security Department SHVR and contracting access control operations, ensuring data consistency while coordinating with government and contracting personnel and agencies to collect and update government access control information.

· Monitor and input changes or modifications to command spreadsheets, databases, and security documents.

· Access Control and Security Management: Support command security programs by assisting with the development and implementation of security procedures related to access requirements, clearances, and badging.

· Assist with citizenship verification and processing and coordinating visit requests with government approval.

· Coordinate MARMC camera passes and visit authorization letters with government confirmation.

· Support personnel access logistics and ensure access list updates are promptly forwarded to appropriate personnel.

· Data Entry and Record-Keeping: Execute data entry and record-keeping responsibilities, including entering and maintaining government-identified information in specified systems.

· Maintain security and access data from various sources, audit information for accuracy in accordance with government standards, assist with data setup, monitor system updates, and report discrepancies.

· Support processing of camera passes and Department of Defense (DoD) visit requests, and assist with record tracking while adhering to government standards and maintaining oversight by the Security Office (SO).

· Maintain executed non-disclosure agreements, clearance data and files, visitor admission and access lists, citizenship verification records, and coordinated visit requests.

· Security Operations Support: Support the MSO in security operations and ensure compliance with procedures and government directives.

· Assist with the development and implementation of security procedures related to access, clearances, badging, fingerprinting, and documentation.

· Perform base access reviews, visitor assistance, badge management, closing procedures, security log maintenance, key and lock program support, antiterrorism measures, emergency assistance, and travel briefs.

· Support security training programs, the Access Control System (ACS), security container information, secure room access lists, and operational, information, physical, insider threat, personnel, industrial, and visitor control security programs.

· Support destruction of materials, Common Access Card (CAC) resets, and fingerprinting activities.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

· Experience providing administrative, security, access control, visitor control, records management, or database support in a government, military, contractor, or similar professional environment.

· Ability to maintain accurate security records, access lists, visit requests, clearance data, non-disclosure agreements, spreadsheets, databases, and related security documentation.

· Experience supporting access control activities such as visitor assistance, badging, visit authorization letters, camera passes, citizenship verification, and personnel access logistics.

· Ability to handle Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and sensitive security-related information with discretion and in accordance with applicable procedures.

· Proficiency using common office software to update spreadsheets, databases, logs, records, and security documents.

· Ability to communicate professionally with government personnel, command personnel, contractor personnel, visitors, and external agencies.

· Must be able to meet all contract, customer, and worksite access requirements.


Preferred Qualifications

· Prior experience supporting U.S. Navy, Department of Defense, federal government, or command-level security programs.

· Familiarity with Ships Visit Request (SHVR), Access Control System (ACS), Common Access Card (CAC) processes, visit requests, badging, fingerprinting, or security office operations.

· Experience supporting operational security, information security, physical security, personnel security, industrial security, insider threat, visitor control, or antiterrorism programs.

· Experience maintaining security logs, key and lock programs, secure room access lists, security container information, or emergency access records.

· Experience supporting security training, travel briefs, emergency assistance, material destruction, or command closing procedures.

· Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, customer service, and coordination skills in a fast-paced security environment.


Physical Requirements

· Must be able to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time.

· Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and similar resources.

· Must be able to frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations.

· Must be able to exchange accurate information in professional communication settings.

5. Preferred Qualifications/Certifications: Defense Security Service (DSS), or Military Service Security Courses or Certifications, or other Security System Certifications
