It helps companies reduce emissions, improve operational efficiency, and meet environmental compliance requirements through products like burners, flare systems, and thermal oxidizers.
For our italian HQ in Cinisello Balsamo (MI), we are now seeking a Senior Accountant to join our fantastic team.
This role is suited for an experienced accounting professional with a strong operational profile, able to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of accounting data, while contributing to a continuously evolving finance environment. The Senior Accountant works in and with the Finance team, supporting core accounting activities with a particular focus on general ledger, payroll and T&E accounting, tax operational activities, and fixed assets, and providing stability and reliability to the overall close process.
The position reports directly to the Head of Finance Italy.
General Ledger & Closing Support
- Perform and manage general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Actively support monthend, quarterend, and yearend closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met and accounting data is accurate and complete.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for closing and reporting purposes.
Payroll, T&E & Tax Operational Accounting
- Perform postings and reconciliation activities related to payroll costs, social charges, and related balance sheet accounts, incl. coordination with external providers.
- Manage T&E accounting and reconciliations, ensuring correct posting and consistency between systems and the general ledger.
- Support taxrelated operational accounting activities, including postings, reconciliations, and monitoring of tax balances, incl. coordination with external providers, with flexibility to support a broader inhouse scope in the future.
Fixed Assets Accounting
- Manage fixed assets accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate fixed asset records, ensuring consistency with accounting entries and supporting documentation.
Interfaces & Audit Support
- Act as backup and accounting interface for AP and AR activities, ensuring correct integration into the general ledger.
- Perform reconciliations between subledgers and the GL, including monitoring clearing and suspense accounts.
- Support internal and external audits, preparing documentation and providing explanations for assigned accounting areas.
Adaptability & Problem Solving
- Operate effectively in a changing environment, contributing to continuous improvement of accounting practices and processes.
- Identify issues, discrepancies, or inefficiencies and address them with a pragmatic and solutionoriented approach.
- Collaborate proactively within the Finance team to ensure consistency, continuity, and reliability of accounting operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
- 6-10 years of professional experience in operational accounting roles, audit, or similar environments.
- Strong handson experience in general ledger accounting and financial close activities.
- Solid operational experience with payroll accounting, T&E accounting, tax postings and reconciliations, and fixed assets.
- Practical experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAGE, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and strong Excel skills.
- High attention to detail combined with a structured and reliable execution mindset.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a teambased and international environment.
- Fluent English (minimum B2 level), written and spoken.
- A handson and dependable accounting professional with strong operational discipline.
