About the role

The EXOVATIONS of Atlanta, LLC (EXO)’s Carpenter position plays a vital role in the installation of decks, porches, windows, and doors. Carpenters are valued members of a team to provide the best customer experience possible. Carpenters are provided opportunities to learn and grow within a four-tiered process, and are expected to be team players and self-motivated.

CARPENTER II (C2) - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ABILITIESPerforms all essential duties, abilities and Key Result Areas required of C1Understands scope of workPossesses ability to define correct door swingsUses all EVO power/pneumatic tools proficientlyHelps to keep C1 employees productiveUnderstands and utilizes proper layout for structural membersFinishes concrete properlySets up and operates ladders in a safe mannerFrames knee walls and roofsUnderstands use of speed square

CARPENTER III (C3) - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ABILITIES

Performs all essential duties and Key Result Areas required of C2Able to work alone on part of project without supervisionKnows what step is next on the project without being told what to do nextKnows all products and materials; and how to properly install per manufacturer used by EXOAble to properly install rafter, joist, beams and bandsAble to properly square up any structureAble to direct work of C1 and C2 employeesAssists LC in daily paperwork loggingAssembles stairsAble to install all door hardwareAble to trim windows and doors

PREREQUISITE EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPENTENCIES:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred2 years related experience in the construction industryEffective in prioritizing work and following through on commitmentsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsDisplays a positive, upbeat attitudeDependable, reliable, and has a strong work ethicCurrent and valid motor vehicle operator’s license

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

All physical requirements are performed for the duration of an 8–10-hour shift.Wears personnel protective equipment as required; safety glasses, dust mask, gloves, safety harness to be used above 4 ft and regular ladder and tool checksPhysical and mental ability to operate company vehicles and associated equipmentDemonstrated ability to perform rigorous outdoor duties including walking, standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching above and below shoulders, sitting, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, manual dexterityAbility to climb ladders for extended periods of timeAbility to carry heavy objectsAbility to lift 100 pounds regularlyGood fine motor skills, coordination, range of motion and grip strengthAbility to work in all climate conditionsAbility to be exposed to loud noise levelsAbility to use power tools and pneumatic tools, as well as hand tools: skill saws, miter saws, nail guns, Sawzall, general carpentry tools.Ability to work in an environment containing dirt, grease, and dustAbility to work safely around heavy machinery and heavy equipmentAbility to read, write, and understand EnglishAbility to effectively interact with others internally and externallyAbility to work with many different personalitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentCorrectable vision and hearing
