Position Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Location: Greenville, South Carolina

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you are the engine behind smooth, efficient billing and collection processes. You’re known for your ability to work with numbers, maintain accurate records, and proactively follow up on account discrepancies. Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable Management
  • Process, post and apply customer payments accurately, ensuring proper account allocation and resolving any discrepancies as needed.
  • Utilize Bullhorn to generate and process miscellaneous billings.
  • Manage weekly invoicing for reimbursable expenses from Great Plains (GP) and oversee month-end invoicing.
  • Reconcile VMS accounts weekly between HTI and the Vendor Management System to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and enter bank deposits daily, as needed.
  • Proactively contact customers regarding outstanding balances, providing status updates and securing payment commitments.
  • Meet department aging metrics, maintaining accounts receivable balances below the department threshold goal.

Financial Record-Keeping & Compliance
  • Maintain financial accounting and analytical files, including spreadsheets and Access Database.
  • Protect confidential financial data and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Advise the Controller/Staff Accountant (and ownership, as needed) on issues affecting customer account collectability.
  • Assist with financial reporting and analysis as needed.

Teamwork and Collaboration
  • Advise the Controller/Staff Accountant (and ownership, as needed) on issues affecting customer collectability.
  • Provide support to other departments and team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with branch or site contacts to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Assist other team members or departments as needed.

Work Environment
This role is primarily office-based, requiring regular interaction with internal departments and external customers.

Travel
Minimal travel may be required to support financial operations or attend company meetings.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
  • Strong analytical skills and financial knowledge
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Technical aptitude to understand complex financial systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) or similar accounting software preferred
  • Must successfully pass a credit check
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or more than two years of relevant experience if degree is in another field
  • Two years of post-graduate experience in accounting or finance
