Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Development Program Manager based in Canada.
This is a high-ownership, player-coach role responsible for building and scaling an outbound prospecting engine across multiple commercial markets.
You will own the top-of-funnel pipeline, from account targeting and prospecting through qualified meetings and sales handoffs.
The role combines hands-on outbound execution with the development of scalable processes, automation, and AI-powered workflows.
You will work extensively with Apollo and AI tools to improve prospect research, messaging, sequencing, and campaign performance.
Data-driven experimentation will be central to identifying new channels, triggers, verticals, and opportunities for growth.
You will also collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop account-based plays and convert market signals into pipeline.
This is an opportunity to shape a function from the ground up while directly influencing commercial growth in a remote-first environment.
- Own monthly targets for outbound attended meetings and qualified opportunities across priority commercial verticals.
- Execute multi-channel outbound campaigns across email, phone, and LinkedIn, targeting multiple relevant contacts within strategic accounts.
- Research and prioritize prospects using intent signals, website activity, job postings, seasonal market timing, geography, and ideal customer profile criteria.
- Respond quickly to inbound leads, place them into appropriate sequences, and provide sales teams with qualified opportunities and strong contextual information.
- Own the outbound sequencing platform, including sequence creation, list management, sending infrastructure, data hygiene, and performance reporting.
- Build and optimize AI-assisted prospecting workflows using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar technologies for account research, messaging, call scripts, and campaign development.
- Automate manual prospecting activities where appropriate while protecting data quality, domain health, and sender reputation.
- Review campaign performance regularly, analyzing reply rates, bounce rates, subject-line tests, enrollment, and conversion metrics to identify and address performance gaps.
- Build and maintain intent-driven target account lists aligned with market conditions, seasonal events, environmental signals, geography, and ICP fit.
- Partner with marketing on campaign-related outbound initiatives, webinar follow-up, content-led sequences, and account-based programs.
- Identify and test new verticals, prospecting triggers, channels, and approaches to continuously strengthen the outbound engine.
- Share sales knowledge, market insights, and successful prospecting practices while helping establish scalable processes for future growth.
- 3–5 years of experience in SDR, BDR, business development, or outbound sales within a B2B environment, with a consistent record of achieving meeting and pipeline targets.
- Hands-on experience with Apollo or a comparable sequencing and sales engagement platform, including building sequences, managing prospect lists, and interpreting campaign performance.
- Demonstrated experience executing coordinated multi-channel prospecting through email, phone, and LinkedIn.
- Practical daily experience using AI-powered writing and research tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar solutions as part of a prospecting workflow.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret campaign and sequence data and distinguish between activity, engagement, and conversion challenges.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create concise, personalized, human-sounding outreach that drives responses.
- Strong ownership, initiative, and comfort working in an environment where processes and systems are still being built.
- Interest or experience in environmental technology, weather monitoring, energy, government, industrial, or related markets is a strong advantage.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work remotely and legally in Canada without requiring current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.
- Remote opportunity available across Canada.
- Full-time, permanent position with flexible remote working.
- Competitive Canadian compensation package with base salary and commission eligibility.
- Comprehensive benefits package, with applicable coverage including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability.
- Retirement savings support, including employer matching where applicable.
- Opportunity to work extensively with AI-powered sales technologies and modern prospecting automation.
- High level of autonomy and ownership in building a new outbound function and shaping its processes.
- Collaborative environment with opportunities to work closely with sales and marketing teams.
- Equal opportunity workplace committed to inclusion and consideration of qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds.
