Hotel Houseperson in Houston, Texas at Texas Hotel Management

The Hotel Houseperson supports the housekeeping department by maintaining cleanliness and organization in guest rooms, hallways, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The Houseperson assists Housekeepers with room preparation, linen distribution, trash removal, and other housekeeping-related duties to ensure a clean and comfortable environment for guests.

• Deliver clean linens, towels, and housekeeping supplies to guest rooms.
• Collect and transport dirty linens, towels, and trash.
• Assist Housekeepers with cleaning and preparing guest rooms.
• Maintain cleanliness of hallways, elevators, corridors, stairways, and other common areas.
• Restock housekeeping carts, supply rooms, and linen closets.
• Move furniture, mattresses, rollaway beds, and other hotel equipment as needed.
• Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from guests and hotel staff.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged items, or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
• Assist with deep-cleaning projects and special housekeeping assignments.
• Follow hotel safety, sanitation, and guest-service standards.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.

• Previous hotel or housekeeping experience is preferred but may not be required.
• Ability to perform physical work for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry housekeeping supplies and equipment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, mornings, evenings, and/or overnight shifts.
• Ability to follow hotel procedures and safety guidelines.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not always required.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to lift and carry housekeeping supplies and equipment, typically up to 50 lbs., depending on hotel requirements.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

• Previous experience in a hotel, resort, housekeeping, janitorial, or similar environment.
• Familiarity with hotel housekeeping procedures.
• Basic knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
• Customer-service-oriented attitude.
